Ready To Work For You in The Utah House

Checklist with three checked items, a money bag with a dollar sign, and a piece of paper with a checkmark

Fiscal Responsibility

In Rural Utah, we know a thing or two about living within our means and making do with what we have. I will work to ensure that your tax dollars are spent wisely, not frivolously, on unnecessary projects that will never benefit rural Utah. I will fight to keep taxes low and ensure our State Government lives within its means.

Public Safety

Everyone deserves to feel safe within their homes and communities. As Mayor of Roosevelt I supported and our law enforcement to keep our city safe. I will do the same as your State Legislator. I will continue to support our law enforcement officers and ensure they have the resources in place to protect and serve our communities to the best of their ability.

Infrastructure & Economic Opportunity

Infrastructure is key to quality of life and is the foundation of economic opportunity. Reliable water systems, safe road systems, power, telecommunication, and efficient rail access determine whether businesses can locate, expand, and succeed. Without strong infrastructure, even the best ideas and hardest-working people are held back. Strategic investment in critical infrastructure strengthens local economies, supports agriculture and energy production, and opens the door for new industries. I will work tirelessly with state and local entities to identify opportunities and funding to build and maintain infrastructure that is vital for our communities, that will create lasting opportunity, attract private investment, and ultimately secure a stronger economic future for our families.

Energy & Natural Resources

Coal mining, Oil & gas production, and power generation are the backbone of District 67’s economy, providing good-paying jobs, funding for our schools, infrastructure, and supporting local services. While responsible energy production is essential, regulatory uncertainty and shifting political winds have created damaging boom-and-bust cycles. With over 27 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, I understand the urgent need for common-sense energy policies and regulatory reform that improve efficiency & predictability, thereby protecting jobs and encouraging long-term investment, and I will fight to that end. I will collaborate with energy leaders and state and local officials to provide a more stable energy framework that will strengthen our rural economies, support energy independence, and ensure Utah remains competitive while being a good steward of our natural resources and the environment. I truly believe and have always said that nowhere in the world produces energy cleaner, safer, and more responsibly than we do in rural Utah.

Defending Our Conservative Values

I understand the traditional values that matter most to Utahns. I will stand up to those who want to limit our Second Amendment rights and will vigorously defend the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. I am proudly pro-life, and I will work tirelessly to protect the sanctity of all human life.

I will fight to give local governments, communities, farmers, and ranchers greater control over how our public lands are used. I will protect the rights of all Utahns and Americans to practice their faith freely, without fear or discrimination. I will also champion free speech and take every opportunity to promote open and respectful discourse.

Agriculture

Agriculture is part of who we are as rural Utahns—a way of life, a heritage that is facing increasing pressure from overregulation, water uncertainty, and land-use restrictions. I will fight to protect critical water rights,  multi-use of public lands, and work to eliminate unnecessary regulations. When we stand with farmers and ranchers, we strengthen food security, preserve our rural heritage, and support a stable economy and way of life for future generations.

Education

A quality education is crucial in preparing young people for real life and real jobs. As a Father of four wonderful children, I understand the importance of having educational opportunities that fit each child’s needs. I’m an advocate for school choice and will defend parents' right to choose the best learning path for their children. Overall, I will work to ensure that our students and teachers receive the critical resources they need to be successful.
